Yard drains that actually carry rain away.
Silt, leaves and roots clog yard drains, catch basins and downspout lines. We jet them open so heavy rain runs where you planned instead of toward the house.
- Equipment: Small and medium jetters, cameras
- Typical visit: One to two hours
- Test: Water flow test to the outlet

What it is, and why it matters.
A yard drain is designed to carry rain from low spots, patios and downspouts away from the house. Over a few seasons silt washes in, leaves pack the grate and roots work into the pipe, and the first big storm shows how far it has closed up.
We lift the grate or open the downspout cleanout and jet the line to the outlet, flushing sediment and root hair. A Nashville yard with a French drain or a catch basin may have several connected lines, so we follow each one and test it with water. If the line is crushed or has a low spot, we explain the repair before storm season.

Storm and Yard Drain Jetting: common questions
Why do yard drains clog so often?
Water carries soil, leaves and mulch into them. Grates help, but silt settles inside the pipe. A yearly jetting before wet season keeps most yard drains working.
My yard drain is flowing but the yard still floods, why?
The outlet may be too small or blocked, the pipe may have a low spot or the amount of water may be more than the system can handle. We check each and explain what would improve it.
