Sewer Repair and Replacement

A cleanout makes every future repair cheaper.

A two-way cleanout gives a camera, cable or jetter a clean way into the line. We add one where the house has none, or fix one that is broken, buried or hard to use.

  • Typical visit: Half a day to a day

The overview

What it is, and why it matters.

A cleanout is a capped pipe that leads into the sewer line, usually outside near the foundation. Without one, every cleaning has to go through a toilet or a roof vent, which is slower, messier and sometimes not possible. Many older houses have none, or have one buried under the lawn or the driveway.

We locate the line, cut in a new cleanout with a two-way fitting where it makes sense and bring it to the surface with a capped riser at an easy-to-reach spot. For a Nashville house with an existing cleanout that is broken, buried or too low to reach, we repair or raise it. It is one of the least expensive ways to save money on every future service call.

We place it where the next technician can find it.

Good questions

Cleanout Installation: common questions

Where should a cleanout be placed?

Usually near the house where the line exits, and sometimes at the property line for a long lateral. It should be clear of landscaping, concrete and parked vehicles.

Can a cleanout be added to a house that has none?

Yes. If the line is accessible, a cleanout can usually be added with a small excavation or at an existing opening such as a vent stack. We explain the options on site.

How do I get a price for cleanout installation?

Fill in the form or call or text 615-209-7643. We confirm what is involved and send a written price, and most properties get a free estimate visit.
